What to Tell?

Well...here I am sitting at a wireless-enabled cafe/bakery close to my apartment overseas. I've been over here 3 weeks, and have way too much to tell in one post. The first week was hard, and I mean hard, but things have gotten better since. The people over here are extremely friendly. I've been invited to several people's homes, and I've experienced the local hospitality first-hand.

One day I walked up to these guys that were working on a building. They were a construction team of some sort, and I just started talking to them. It was hard to talk to them, but we tried. Then this guy in a van pulled up and handed everybody some sandwiches. Then the head guy said something and gave me his sandwich. I assume he meant for me to eat it, so I did.

Another time I was walking down the road (I do a lot of walking down the road here) and I saw a guy washing his car. I stopped to talk to him, and before I knew it I had joined his family for dinner, and we ended up watching a football (soccer) game.

So, despite the language barrier, the people have shown themselves to be very hospitable. There's much more to tell, but it will have to wait for a while. I hope to have some pictures for the next post

Until then...

wow, you just fit right in, don't ya? Im so glad things are getting better! I totally know how you feel! Things are good here, you hang in there! :)

Good to hear from you. Everything ok, I heard of some stuff happening in the region?

Now that's what i call jumping in with both feet! you're a regular cultural surfer. i hope you like tea.
