Belated Post on July 4th
This past July 4th was pretty good, I think my friends and I really made the most of it because we know it's the last one we'll celebrate for the next couple of years. I think my friend Captain Redbeard put it best:
1. We saw Abraham Lincoln (in D.C.)
2. We watched a baseball game
3. We yelled at Canadians
4. We watched firewords blow up right above us
5. We drank Freedom Juice (No, it's not alcoholic)
6. We ate half a pound of beef
Basically, we ran around like American idiots all day and night, knowing we wouldn't have the opportunity for a while. I must say, it was pretty fun.
If you want the boring details, you can find them below:
So after the D.C. trip (which was pretty cool) we went and saw the local triple-A baseball team play a Canadian team (USA won!), only the game was sold out by the time we got there. We had to stand outside the stadium which was pretty dumb, but we did get to yell at the Canadian bench. Then we realized the fireworks were set up right beside us. It was the closest I'd ever been, we were lucky not to be covered in firework ash. Then it was off to Wendy's for the beef and more American revelry...
